Hurricanes: Bringing in fake news


People post anything in order to get viewers and more attention. Hurricane Irma and harvey have  proven to be grounds for fake news.

Above is a link stating that "sharks flooded the streets in Miami" 
This is FAKE NEWS!
Posts similar to this have flooded media in the past weeks. People are taking advantage of this natural disaster and spreading fake news. People should not believe this, but the fact is that some people do. Viewers have a tendency to believe what they see and people to do not know any better believe that sharks could really reach land throughout the floods.

This is a screenshot from my twitter set up page. This post does not have anything to do with current news. This post is important because it shows how interdependent media and politics are at every level.  As I am setting up my twitter I come across this page suggesting who to follow. It seems innocent, or even helpful. Twitter is just assisting me in the setup process of its site. I come across this section titled politics. It gives me the option to follow CNN, Huffington Post, and Fox news. I realized in this moment that this is the most simple form of mass medias role in politics.
