Fake News: Media Debates

As my blog thus far has shown, fake news is an issue in todays media. However there are debates about this term and what comes along with it. Fake news is till in the beginning stages, and we are still figuring how to control it, or if it is really a problem. In The Hill there is a very heated debate between Gorka, who is sided with Trump, and CNN"s Anderson Cooper. This debate is concerning fake news, the content of this article really highlights the main points and problems that come along with fake news.

Gorka is accusing CNN's Cooper of producing fake news in order to get more views. Gorka states that he "knows that they was sensational coverage for their ratings so their corporate sponsors and owners will have more money, but that' s not media, that's not reportage, it's just fake news."
This quote summarizes one of the main problems with media these days and fake news. Media and reporters do not report for the truth, or the real story, they report to get views and money. Mass media is such a business based entity now that it seems almost impossible to get in back to the prestige that it once was at. Fake news comes from this problem. Fake news seems to be fueled by the race for higher ratings and viewers.

AS this debate proceeds much is debated about the morals of Trump and Trump Jr., then Gorka asks the real question.
He states"I thought we were going to talk about real issues, like what is going on with out allies in France."
The president frequently labels CNN as fake news, however this is not why this debate is so important.
This debate encompass a lot of realities of fake news and the media these days. Fake news is fueled by ratings and money. There are so many people questioning if mass media is a credible source for us to get our news from. Does in hurt or help the American Democracy. Does it inform the public?
These questions are floating around with no solution. Fake news does not inform the public.
Like Gorka states "I thought we were going to talk about real issues," The media doe snot talk about real issues these days. They talk about the dramatic exciting story that will get them viewers. This is not always the story that the people need to hear.
